Are you an experienced machinist, equipment technician, or field service engineer who likes pushing CNC machines to their limits? Do you like helping newer operators learn their way around CNC machines? Do you enjoy collaborating with other technical experts on new machines and accessories? If so, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

You, our future full-time Technical Specialist, will be a key member of the Technical Support team based near Madison, Wisconsin. You’ll be one of the experts responsible for providing troubleshooting and operations support to our customers. Above all, your communication style will promote our brand and build positive relationships with our customers, who range from R&D engineers to hobbyists. We offer a dynamic and flexible work schedule with our core support available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Up to about 5% of your time may be spent traveling. Main responsibilities include:

  • Helping customers, by phone, email, and video chat, select the best machines and accessories for their applications, and lead the charge to quickly resolve technical or operational issues
  • Teaming up with your fellow technicians to solve problems and share expertise to help form a well-rounded group of experts
  • Writing technical content, starring in technical videos, promoting products at trade shows, and generating customer allegiance in all you do
  • Developing new products or revolutionizing existing products, including prototyping, testing, and serving as a subject matter expert for product-specific technical content

What Your Resume Says

  • 3 to 10 years’ troubleshooting experience in a customer service or production environment
  • Background in making things, whether for work or hobby
  • Knowledge of and experience with CNC machinery, machining, and machine processes
  • Demonstrated electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills from help desk or field service experience
