You, our future full-time Logistics Manager, will be a key member of the Logistics team. You’ll oversee a small group of supply chain professionals, deal directly with customers and vendors, and work closely with all departments within Tormach. Main responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a team of experienced supply chain professionals
  • Coordinating the pickup, transport, and delivery of high-value palletized freight shipments, domestic and international
  • Maintaining inventory levels and accuracy across multiple warehouses in multiple countries
  • Managing relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) partners, transportation companies, UPS, and other carriers
  • Working collaboratively with fellow employees to identify and implement logistics process improvements to ensure the most effective and efficient logistics processes
  • Performing all duties inherent in the role of a manager including hiring, termination, review, and development of associates
  • Overcoming roadblocks to ensure deliveries are made in line with internal and external customer requirements
  • Ensuring on-time deliveries in and out of the country
  • Developing, monitoring, and driving key performance indicators
  • Providing updated logistics instructions to all project service providers and contractors
  • Participating in special projects and performing additional duties as required

What Your Resume Says

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years’ experience in a logistics lead role position
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or related methodologies a plus
  • Prior experience with Acumatica or similar business enterprise purchasing, inventory control, and/or procurement management system

Your Strengths

  • Personable, positive, and fun to be around; you have a sense of humor
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Experience with 3PL
  • Experience with global procurement, especially China and Taiwan
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor a team to success
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that’s less structured than larger companies

Icing on the Cake

  • Computer programming experience
  • Involvement with makerspaces, or interest in 3D printing, CNC, electronics, or robotics
  • Familiar with machine tools or CNC
  • Love of making things, whether for work or hobby
