The Manufacturing Consultants listed below are independent professionals, who are either machinists or manufacturing engineers. The Manufacturing Consultants have no direct relationship with Tormach, but do own at least one Tormach mill and use it regularly in a professional capacity. These consultants are available on an hourly, bid, or contract basis to assist with your mill related manufacturing projects.
Consultations can range from very small projects to full scale manufacturing systems. An example of a small project would be a simple CAM project, delivering G&M code file based on your drawing and specific to a Tormach mill. If you would like to be cutting parts quickly and don’t have time to learn any CAM software, this can be a quick way to get started.
A more comprehensive project would be development of a full turnkey manufacturing process. If you have a family of small parts that you want to manufacture you will probably need several things in addition to a Tormach mill. The manufacturing process would include CAD, CAM, G&M code files, tool specification, work holding fixtures, and documented work instructions. The combination of a well defined process and a Tormach mill can be the quickest way to establish in-house manufacturing capability.
Engaging a manufacturing consultant is an excellent way to kick-start your use of a Tormach mill. If you’re new to machining, a consultant can get you off on the right foot and shorten your learning curve. However, as with most professional consultation, you should use your consultants to augment the internal skills within your company or accelerate your learning. They should be an aid, not a crutch. In the long run, your success will improve if you learn how to program, operate, and maintain the machine yourself.

Steve Seebold started working in his dad’s shop, Trio Tool and Die, during the summer between his freshman and sophomore year in high school. He jokingly says his first tool, “had a long wooden handle and some straw bound to the end.” He learned a lot during that time about the tool and die trade
After high school, he started attending a trade school in Los Angeles. His first introduction to CNC came while reading a copy of Modern Machine Magazine where saw a picture of a Bridgeport mill that looked strange. It took a while to figure it out, but he soon realized, “IT HAD NO HANDLES!”. He read the advertisement and that was when he decided that was what he wanted to do.
Seebold started JDS Machine in 1979 and bought his first CNC lathe in 1981. He sold the company and later started Seebold Engineering, a job shop servicing the aerospace industry, before retiring in 2008. Seebold has over 30 years experience in CNC industry and expertise in modern CAD/CAM tools.
Mid Day Machining is Seebold’s retirement “hobby”. He focuses on his own line of parts for remote control (RC) hobbyists and is also available for consulting work and short run production of 1-25 pieces. Capabilities include a PCNC 1100, and seats of both Solidworks and Gibbscam.

Eric Andersen is a trained tool and die machinist with industry experience. He is well versed on PCNC 1100 and PCNC 770 design processes and fixture/jig design. Eric is very experienced in CAD and CAM programming especially with SprutCAM for Tormach machines.
Eric is an owner of a PCNC 770, and has had years of experience teaching CNC machining and CAM programming for Tormach LLC. The focus of Eric’s consulting work would be largely, part / fixture design and CAM programming. Travel for consulting would be rare.
