TurboCAD/CAM
TurboCAD/CAM has TurboCAD at its core. This is a link to a description of the CAD program:
Extended TurboCAD Description

CAM Features in TurboCAD/CAM
Simplistic CAM programs will create G & M codes directly as you pick out paths or objects in a CAD drawing. It seems easy to make progress as you work, but going back and making changes can be difficult.
More advanced CAM programs, like TurboCAD/CAM,
will
generate
conceptual
operations
that are
essentially
machine
independent.
While
the
resulting
G & M
codes
might be
displayed,
the
program
is
actually
recording
ideas,
like
"pocket
this
area,"
or "edge
mill
this
contour."
This is
quite
different
than
recording
just the
motions
like
"move X
3
inches."
The
result
is that
your
work is
much
easier
to edit,
retaining
the
ability
to
modify
properties
of
individual
operations
or even
whole
groups
of
operations.
Now,
this
wouldn't
be a
software
description
without
a
feature
list.
- Operations arranged on Explorer® like tree structure.
- Supports both mill and lathe operations.
- Comprehensive tool library with editable
entries, allows you to build your own tool table.
- Large tool table stores tool operating preferences.
- Cutting simulation in 3D.
- Drawing and CAM are linked. If you modify the drawing after developing the CAM, the cutting operations are automatically updated.
- Automatically generates 3D models with photorealistic rendering. Simple 2D drawings are all that are needed, but the 3D models are automatically derived as you specify the CAM operations.
- Automatic lead in and lead out.
- Dynamic tool path copy.
- Supports tapping head.
- CAM setup wizard.
- Change operation's depth, feed, or speed with one click.
- Load factor compensation for machine and tool
- Reorder by tool, operation, or part.
- Controller support for Tormach, Fadal, Fanuc, and Haas
TurboCAD/CAM Training and Support
The program comes with a good tutorial, usually enough to get you started. For a more detailed understanding we suggest purchasing TurboCAD/CAM movie CD. This is a series of short movies, each one training on a different set of software features.
Tormach can only offer limited support on TurboCAD/CAM. Extensive training and support is offered by CadCourse.com. The people at CadCourse are closely involved with the publisher and have excellent knowledge of the product.
