About ER Collets and Tool holders

ER collets are an industry standard (DIN 6499) self-extracting collet. The ER system is a preferred method for holding small diameter tools with a minimum of tool runout.  ER collets are sold in fractional and metric size increments and easily snap into our TTS ER holders.

Tormach offers both ER-20 and ER-16 toolholders and collets. The ER-20 system can be used to hold tools up to 1/2” in diameter. ER-16 is a smaller size and can hold diameters up to 3/8”.  Metric Collet sizes are also available.
