Digitizing Probe & Tool
Setter
 Tormach
offers an electronic
Digitizing Probe (PN 30668) which
enables faster
setup of jobs on the
machine. The probe is
used to set the work
offset values
corresponding to the
position of the work on
the table or in the
vise. It has a standard
TTS (¾") shank and is
best used in the ¾" R8 collet (PN 30146). The
standard probe tip is
0.1575" in diameter (4
mm). The probe cable has
a male 5 pin DIN
connector. This
connector will join to
the auxiliary socket
provided on the PCNC 1100
operators control panel.
The Tormach Digitizing
Probe also comes with a
sturdy storage case.
 The Tormach Tool Setter (PN 30669) is typically used to measure and set tool lengths and Z-axis work offsets. When contacted by a tool it works with the machine control software to record position.
Description
The tool setter enables fast and accurate measurement of tools and setup of jobs. It also has the advantage of setting work offsets with no risk of chipping the edges of high performance carbide mills.
The tool setter cable has a

Tapping Heads
 Tormach
offers both a Small Tapping
Head (PN 30613) and Large
Tapping Head (PN 30612).
These are reversing style
tapping heads, designed to
be loaded in the PCNC 1100
mill as a TTS tool and used
to thread previously drilled
holes under CNC control.
An auto-reverse tap head has
an internal gear/clutch
mechanism which provides two
functions. First, it will
allow compliance in length
to accommodate variation
between spindle rotation
speed and Z-axis speed as
the tap screws into the
hole. Secondly, it contains
a gear clutch mechanism that
will reverse rotation of the
tap as the tap head
withdraws. This allows the
tap to screw itself out of
the newly threaded hole
without the need for
reversing the spindle.

Machine Arm
Tormach's Machine Arm
(photo on left) is a great
addition to your PCNC 1100.
It can be mounted directly
on the machine column. It
has a rigid support with a
machined cast iron support
bracket, two sturdy steel
extension arms, and a center
pivot. It is fully
adjustable and easy to
install. Any LCD with a
standard VESA 75 mm or 100
mm mount can be used. Every
machine comes with the
column drilled and tapped to
fit our cast iron bracket.
The supporting arms are
machined to allow routing
the cables inside the arms.
The Tool Tray (photo on
right) is used in
conjunction with the Machine
Arm (sold separately) and
used to hold up to 20 tools.
Please note, LCD displays
and keyboards normally need
extension cables when used
with a keyboard arm. Our
video extension is PN:
